In the early 1900's a group of individuals started meeting in the second story of a general store in the town of Heaston, reportedly so named for a man that lived there for a time.  Today Heaston Community Church continues to grow as a congregation that enjoys one essential authority—the Lord Jesus Christ. As a church that is wholly unaffiliated with any denomination, Heaston Community Church recognizes itself as independent of the traditional structures of associations or denominations. Indeed, the Scriptures alone serve as our guide—and the Holy Spirit is He who transforms our hearts and minds.

Since values are what make any body of people strong, Heaston Community Church owns some essential core values. These are rooted in God's Word, and serve as guideposts for our community as we represent the Lord Jesus Christ in our various realms of influence. These include:

  • a firm belief in the deity of Jesus Christ
  • a clear understanding that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, died on a cross for the payment of sins, and literally rose from the grave three days later
  • the sovereignty of God Almighty
  • the person and work of God the Holy Spirit
  • the absolute inerrancy of the Scriptures

We also affirm strongly that salvation is a gift from God and is received by individuals through personal faith in Jesus Christ. When one believes in Jesus Christ, he or she is forever secure and is called to live in authenticity and holiness.
